When was wine invented?


All began in Neolithic period. It was the era then humans start developing different technologies. They start keeping dogs, goats and sheep’s. Most important thing in this period was invention of farming. It was very helpful to mankind and made revolution done 10000 BC. Although humans began growing domestic crop such as einkorn wheat, millet and dinkel wheat also can be called hulled wheat or spelt wine-making wasn’t invented at the same year. Invention of wine took about 4000 years.

When was wine invented?

Only in 5400 BC humans worked out how to ferment grapes and make a wine. Maybe it was accidentally done but it was done. The territory there proof of wine maturation was found was Persia. Now we know this territory as Iran territory. It is the oldest found archaeological excavations of wine making. There was found six 9 liter jars. The excavations were supervised by Mary M. Voigt, Robert H. Dyson, Cuyler Young Jr. and Charles Burney in 1958-1968. Although first who noticed pottery jars protruding from the ground was Sir Aurel Stein in 1936.
